About me

BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist in Guildford, Surrey

My path to becoming a psychotherapist was not as straight forward as it could have been. I qualified with a BA degree in Psychology after school and then fell into design and moved to the UK from South Africa. After years of working in marketing and design, my passion for helping people through conversation became too strong to ignore. I was in therapy with an amazing Transpersonal Psychotherapist who was the first person to ‘get into my head’ and I found the therapy empowering and life-changing.

I took the leap and took on the training and after the four years, I qualified as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor in 2011.

My qualifications are:

  • BA Degree in Psychology
  • Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Foundation Course in Bereavement

During and since then, I have worked with stroke recovers, people living with AIDS and HIV, an outreach centre for women survivors of domestic abuse and The Fountain Centre, a counselling centre for cancer patients, their carers and families. I have also spent a great deal of time with parents who have a child with a life-threatening illness.
